Drifter’s Solace is a Chef’s Table dining experience in downtown Toronto. Offering the best of seasonal local produce, the multi-course menu experience is personally presented by Chef David Salt.

About David

Chef David Salt's training and cooking style stems from French techniques and broader British, European and modern influences. He takes inspiration for flavours from his travels and exposure to different cultures. He works with a respect for the classics, but enjoys giving diners the opportunity to taste unfamiliar flavour combinations and styles.

Born in Toronto, David grew up in Canada, Papua New Guinea and the United Arab Emirates. After completing culinary school in Toronto, he moved to London to pursue the opportunities that Europe had to offer. He worked in a number of establishments during his 14 years in the UK, culminating in his position as Head Chef at Pascal Aussignac’s one Michelin-starred Club Gascon in London. He returned home to Canada in summer 2018.

Having had the benefit of such a diverse cultural upbringing, not to mention his vast experiences from traveling the world, you can expect an explosion of flavours using sustainable, locally sourced ingredients where possible, created and served in an informal yet refined setting.
